The Role
As a Workshop Heavy Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and inspecting a wide range of heavy plant equipment, ensuring our customers' operations remain safe, productive, and efficient.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Heavy Plant Equipment.
- Diagnosing faults across hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and thorough equipment inspections.
- Delivering exceptional customer service and responding effectively to customer queries.
- Working in line with all health, safety, environmental, and company policies.
- Accurately completing job reports electronically and ordering required parts.
- Maintaining your company vehicle to a high standard, ensuring it is fully stocked and operational.
- Building and maintaining strong customer relationships through consistent, high-quality service delivery.
What We're Looking For
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance, or an equivalent engineering qualification.
- Proven experience servicing and repairing heavy plant equipment and machinery.
- Experience working with leading manufacturers such as Liebherr, CAT, Komatsu, or Volvo.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- The ability to work independently and effectively under pressure.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload.
- A customer-focused approach and strong communication skills.
- A flexible, positive, and committed attitude.
